Local Outreach: The Castle Ministry
CTK considers community outreach to be one of our most important ministries. We have many programs that provide assistance to the local community and the world.
Ministry to Those Who Live with Mental Illness
1 in 4 people will experience mental illness during their lifetime, that means 25% of the population. The Church is called to minister to this neglected and underserved population. Jesus had no problem breaking through the barriers of stigma that existed with those people who lived with leprosy.
Mental Illness Awareness Week Annual Event is the first Tuesday of October. Guest speakers on mental health, prayer vigil, sponsors, and community cookout raise awareness and breaks down the barriers and stigma that still exists for those who live with mental illness.
Ministry to the Castle
The Castle is a social and recovery program in Centerville, Ohio for those who live with mental illness. The Castle is a stigma free zone where people who live with mental illness can build relationships and learn ways to contribute back to their communities.
CTK began assisting the Castle in 2009. This ministry is open to the public, and if you would like more information, you can contact us. The Castle Website is www.friendsofthecastle.org.
Hope4Us Castle Bible Study
On the first and last Tuesday of each month at 1:00pm, a Bible study is held for our friends at the Castle. This is a time of sharing about God and how He helps us in our lives. This is led by Pastor Dona Johnson. All are welcome to attend!
Christ the King introduces a new ministry: Fit4Faith, a faith based fitness program by Ms. Rio Light. Ms. Light is a personal fitness trainer who has combined her passion for health and exercise with her love of the Lord. Ms. Light has trained clients at LA Fitness Centerville and leads "Strength & Balance", a fitness program for seniors.
Coffee Fellowship Help Needed:
Please sign up on the sheet in the narthex if you would like to provide
coffee and treats for our 9:00 am Coffee Fellowship on Sundays.
Our coffee fellowship gives us time to visit with others who worship here
with us and grows stronger bonds with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
